KuibyshevAzot PJSC supported the Russian Sailing Championship in Togliatti

The Russian Olympic classes sailing championship, which was hosted by Druzhba Yacht Club from September 16 to September 22, 2020, has completed in Togliatti.

The entry list is more than representative. There were 261 athletes taking part in the championship. KuibyshevAzot PJSC did its best to ensure that, in the conditions of the coronavirus infection spread, the competition was held on the premises of Druzhba Yacht Club, which is developing with the support of the enterprise.

During the entire championship, the participants had to compete not so much with their opponents, but to fight with the weather conditions. Strong winds and high waves have become an integral element of this struggle. But judging by the reviews, the participants just liked these conditions and this added excitement to the competitive program.

In the 49th class, the gold of the championship was won by Jan Cech and Pavel Karachev. Bronze medals of the championship got the Togliatti crew of Dmitry Lazdin and Evgeny Vasiliev.

In the women's 49th FX class, Zoya Novikova (St. Petersburg) and Diana Sabirova (Togliatti) took the first place. The crew took the lead from the very beginning of the championship and confidently held the first position throughout the racing days. The second place went to the Togliatti crew of Anastasia Mogilnaya and Polina Kirsanova, who surpassed only in terms of tiebreaker another crew from Togliatti of Natalya Ermakova and Alena Sukhova.

In the women's RS: X, Anna Khvorikova became the champion, she was ahead of her main rival Polina Firsova by only 1 point!

On September 22, in classes 470, Finn, Laser-standard, Laser-radial and RS: X men’s medal races were held with the participation of ten best athletes according to the results of the previous days of the regatta.

Men’s RS: X class - Alexander Askerov, Vladislav Burmistrenko and Evgeny Ayvazyan competed throughout the entire regatta. Alexander Askerov won the second time in a row at the Russian Championship.

Laser-Standard class became a real sensation. Sergei Komissarov, multiple champion of the country, who was leading throughout the regatta, yielded the pas in the medal race! Sergei finished the fourth, and 20-year-old Daniil Krutskikh was the first. This was enough to pull out the gold. Samara region had eight representatives in this class at once, seven of them were Togliatti residents. Only Dmitry Bondarenko was able to get into the medal race and showed the final ninth result.

In the Laser-Radial class, the fate of the gold medal was decided in the very last medal race of the regatta. Maria Kislukhina won the decisive race and won gold.

Inthe 470 class, Pavel Sozykin and Denis Gribanov walked confidently towards their next champion gold throughout the regatta. Athletes became national champions for the 12th time. Alisa Kirilyuk and Anzhelika Chernyakhovskaya won gold in the women's class 470 by a long shot.

In the Finn class, Arkady Kistanov became the first. In the beginning, the regatta was not easy for him, but then he significantly improved - seven wins and two finishes in second place. Athletes of the Druzhba Yacht Club Alexander Kulyukin and Dmitry Petrov took sixth and seventh places, respectively.

This is not the first time that competitions of such a high level are held in the water area of the Kuibyshev impoundment at the premises the Druzhba Yacht Club. KuibyshevAzot PJSC, supporting the development of sailing in the Samara region, is not only one of the sponsors of the All-Russian competitions in Togliatti, but has been supporting the development of children's sailing for many decades. One of the largest children's and youth schools in the Volga region operates on the basis of the Druzhba Yacht Club, whose graduates perform successfully both in Russia and abroad.
